Above you will see one of the first concepts that takes the form of a Bubble drawing. This shows the relationships between the desired spaces that the client has requested. The bubble diagram helps us understand the transitions we would like to have from room to room. It is how the client would like for the home to flow from awaking in the morning to final rest at night. It also allows for us to plan for the views and placement of the home on the lot. We want to take advantage of everything the lot has to offer in views from the very beginning of the design.
Above you will find a more detailed approach now that we understand the the program of the new home owners design needs. At the same time we are looking at the topography and establishing how we would have to change the grade in order to nest the project into the existing landscape. Access points are considered along with costs of excavation. Sometimes movement one way or the other will make a big difference in initial excavation and foundation costs.
