2010 "417 Magazine Home of the Year"-750,000-1 Million
Euro World Design recently submitted home designs (that were built in the 417 area code) to the 417 Home Magazine 2010 Home of the Year contest. Designer Ron Hill states, “Our team is proud to be a part of the home owner’s excitement to win this prestigious award". Euro World Design, located in Ozark, Mo. designs homes with the character you would find in Old World communities. Euro World's niche is the French Country, Country French, Old World and European style home plans.
The 2010 417 Home of the Year was awarded to homeowners Matt and Kelly Beard, and their builder Doug Pitts of Doug Pitts Construction for a winner in the category of $750,000-1 million. This French Country, Normandy style home has an Old World elegance that blends in well with the surrounding country side. Matt and Kelly were looking for a more rustic appeal that could take on an elegant look with the furniture and accessories. Builder Doug Pitts was a great fit for what they needed in the attention to detail in a lot of the areas that both Matt and Kelly were requesting.
The entry of the home welcomes you with 12x12 posts and beams that create a rustic dramatic look as you approach the home. A stair case immediately ascends to the second floor with iron railings that tower above the foyer. The Great Room is a two story space with an abundance of windows to take in their wonderful view of the rolling hills. There is a double sided stone fireplace with stone arches to both sides which leads you to the hearth room and Kitchen area. The Hearth Room Kitchen and Dining Room are a triangle of coziness. Their ceilings are laden with wood and rich honey toned timbers that define the spaces along with creating warmth with the rich honey tones of the timbers.
The children’s rooms are upstairs and have angled ceilings taking in a lot of the existing roof space. Each room has its own bath and dormers with quaint window seats. Murals and unique textures surround the rooms to add to the their individual character.
The basement is an outdoorsman’s dream with a lodge feel that satisfies the man of the house. Matt is an avid hunter and has an extraordinary collection of deer antler sheds. One of Matt's main requests was a room to display his collections. Euro World developed a room that is lodge styled with tall walls for his multitude of trophies and antlers. The rest of the walk out basement consists of a spacious theatre and recreation area to entertain guests.
Ron Hill and the staff at Euro World Design would like to thank Matt and Kelly for sharing their home with others and the contributions they have made to their community. Check out the 417 Home Magazine for more pictures and details.
